Perfume Review: Toy 2 Bubble Gum by Moschino

The spring comes with some new releases in perfumery and certainly one of the most cheerful not only with the bottle design but also interesting notes is Toy 2 Bubble Gum by Moschino. Not long ago I posted about Toy 2 and how much I loved the fragrance, this new flanker as the name says includes bubble gum on it so I couldn’t be more excited about it.

  • Top Notes: Candied Citrus, Italy Lemon, Italy Orange
  • Heart Notes: Bubble Gum Accord, Cinnamon, Blueberries, Ginger, Bulgarian Rose , Juicy Peach, Peach Blossom
  • Base Notes: Cedar Wood, Ambrofix, Silky Musk Cocktail
  • Gender: Feminine
  • Concentration: Eau de Toilette
  • Olfactory Family: Floral Fruity
  • Perfumer: Oliver Pescheux

Sometimes some fragrances are capable to make us feel nostalgic, like that fragrance our mum used to wear when we were kids, what type of perfumes we used to wear as kids or teenagers or our during our uni days well Toy 2 Bubble Gum has that power somehow to send me to my childhood and early teen days when I used to chew Hubba Bubba bubblegum with that strawberry mixed with other fruits flavour. The opening is that flavour made a note obviously mixed with many of the fruity notes but still you can easily recognise it, but before you think this is a teenager fragrance I have to say the hubba bubba opening fades away after 10 minutes probably and just remains that candy sweet kinda of La Vie est belle, so it has a childish opening but then is like the it becomes a grown up scent with a predominant rose, blueberries and the wood with musk gives that more mature scent, the fruits are mostly a sweet cocktail but definitely the rose is on top once it dries down and the bubble gum just remains giving the candy touch to the fruits, this is an authentic fruity floral scent with touches of candy but not overwhelming or sickly sweet, I would say is moderate with the sillage and projection, when it comes to duration this an Eau de Toilette and I have tried it like 3 times and I could say that it last 6 -7 hours and then it becomes skin scent.

Is a nice concept, different from what we saw in the last years and it has the typical eccentric DNA from Moschino. Is not a teen perfume and when it comes to perfume everyone is free to wear whatever they want doesn’t matter age, gender or season, but probably women on their 20’s 30’s would feel more comfortable wearing it. I personally liked it, not as much as Toy 2 but I appreciate that little touch of nostalgia from bubble gum but at the same time it dries down to a modern scent so is not like I’m wearing like candy all the time, is just different.
