Review: The Body Shop, CBD Range

CBD is an acronym for cannabidiol. It is one of many compounds called cannabinoids that are extracted from the cannabis sativa plant, also known as hemp, for their many different benefits. Even though hemp seed oil and CBD come from the same plant, they do not have the same benefits because they’re not extracted the same way. Continue reading “Review: The Body Shop, CBD Range”

Review: Institut Esthederm, Intensive Hyaluronic Skincare Routine

During the last couple of years we started to hear about Hyaluronic Acid applied to skincare products but many times there is a misconception that HA is reserved for dry skin, Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar found naturally in our skin that holds water and helps keep it hydrated and plump. The HA within our bodies holds a thousand times its weight in water to not only retain all that moisture in our skin and joints, but also prevent all that moisture from evaporating into the air, now just like elastin and collagen this one also decrease in production as we get older so here is when we have to do our part to estimulate the production, internally as you can imagine our diet plays a vital role, no rocking science vegetables and fruits are in the top of the list, externally we can help our skin with skincare products like serums, creams, masks that keep the skin moisturised, helping to reduce the Transepidermal water loss. Perfume Review: Fleur Nocturne by Isabey

In 1925, Julien Viard designed for the Perfume House Isabey, a little jewel made of crystal called  “Bleu de Chine”. Only few pieces of what was considered as collectors’ items, are still available; one of them at the “Museum of Perfume” in Grasse, France. The same year, Ludwig Moser designed another bottle, with a Crystal Master from Karlsbad: a dark amethyst with hand painted patterns in a lozenge shape bottle. When the decision to produce a contemporary version was taken, it was not possible to use the original name as it was, in the meantime, registered by another company. However, the spirit of “Bleu de Chine” was captured by realising an exceptional scent treasured in a bottle that was treated with a unique process known as “Sublimation”. The dark blue colour and the unique decor have been kept on the new edition. Continue reading “Perfume Review: Fleur Nocturne by Isabey”

Review: Bioderma, Atoderm Body Care Routine For Normal, Dry And Atopic Skin

For so many years I didn’t really pay attention to what I have been using as body cream or shower gel, I have to admit that most of the time I used to choose highly scented products, never read the ingredients list, it was like the only part of my skin that deserved good treatment was my face and totally left my body aside. It was not till I got a bit of eczema due to the harsh products I was using on my skin but also to wash my clothes that I ended up being more selective and lately had an urticaria caused by stress so really had to be careful with my body care routine to don’t make the condition even worst. I have to admit I wasn’t a big fan of colognes, I had that idea in my mind they were more for men, poor generic scent, not long lasting, etc I just didn’t care to have a proper look and give a change, but since I studied perfumery and chemistry I started to appreciate more the quality that certain brands offer and Atelier Cologne is one of the game changers on reinvent colognes.
