Probably many of you heard the legend of Cleopatra and her donkey milk baths to keep her well known beauty, I believe most of us can’t have such a luxurious treat at home but certainly we can enjoy the properties of donkey’s milk in our everyday skincare routine, that’s why I’m gonna share my experience with the products from Smart Ass Beauty, a new Cruelty Free brand developed in the UK and produced in Sardinia Italy. Continue reading “Review: Smart Ass Beauty, Donkey Milk Skincare Range”

My skincare routine has been quite exciting lately since I have included three products from the New Zealander brand Antipodes, not only for the ingredients, also many of their products are vegetarian (some even vegan), it’s a natural sustainable brand with a deep connection with natural ingredients and ecological awareness proof of that is that all their packaging is recyclable. Continue reading “Review: Antipodes, Manuka Honey Skin Care Collection”
When it comes to give a treat to my skin I would not doubt twice to mention face masks, different types, different applications, different purposes, but there is one I actually use twice a week and are the leave on all night ones as an extra to hydrate and moisture my face. I love when new type of products show up in the market with new formulas, textures… specially if we are talking about toners, some people consider them unnecessary mostly because they have an inaccurate concept about what a toner does or they tend to think about the first ones in the market that were pure alcohol with fragrance, I remember them when I was a teenager with oily skin and acne and how much damage they caused. Continue reading “Review: Kiehl’s, Daily Refining Milk-Peel Toner”
We will keep talking about SPF as this is not only a matter of beauty but also about health, on the face, the body, we tend to use separate products as the ones for the body tend to be far more greasy and thicker and I have to admit I’m not the best with the body ones as I hate the heavy greasy feeling after, and having to carry two different SPF is a bit of hassle till I found an option by Bioderma, is the Photoderm MAX Spray SPF 50+ so I wanted to share it here. Continue reading “Review: Bioderma Photoderm MAX Spray SPF 50+”
Toners could be one of the biggest allies on your skincare or one of your worst enemies depending on their formulation, I’m also against of paying huge amounts of money for a product that is supposed to be simple and not with a bunch of ingredients that should be supplied by serums, moisturisers etc. Continue reading “Review: AA Skincare, Frankincense & Rose Face Toner”
Not long ago in the blog we talked about essences, more particularly the Lumiere Marine, Clarifying Water Essence by Thalgo, this particular product was mostly for improve the skin tone, any steins caused mostly because of the sun, pigmentation, or just bring back to life any dull skin. But just finished another essence from this brand and is the Micro-Peeling Water Essence, yes… now we are going for the texture. Continue reading “Review: Thalgo, Micro-Peeling Water Essence”
Even when essences have been on the market for a while, not many brands produce them, actually they are kind of exclusive to medium to luxury ones and still you would need to know where to find them, but still many people wouldn’t know what they are, how to use it and most important they are not meant to replace any other product. Continue reading “Review: Thalgo, Clarifying Water Essence”
Looking for skincare essences to try out for the blog and a guide I’m making this product from Thalgo called my attention so why not decided to give it a try.I have already tried few products from this brand and got very nice results so I was always willing to try it again, but at some point I discovered this one by accident. Continue reading “Review: Thalgo, Prodige Des Oceans Essence”

Having oily/combination skin is a real issue, when I was a teenager I have suffered from a severe acne and due to the lack of information (or misinformation) I used to have a terrible skincare routine and today I’m paying the consequences of it. But the story doesn’t finish there acne could be hormonal, due to a bad a diet, stress and also using the wrong products could be causing it.Acne is not the only issue, having a prone skin to open pores, blackheads and blemishes is something that most of us have to deal with, that’s why today I wanted to share two products from Bioderma that are specific for this concerns. Continue reading “Review: Bioderma, Sébium Gel Moussant and Sébium Global”
When Beautyblender announced the release of a foundation I was quite surprised as we all know the brand for the magnificent makeup sponges, so I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when Bounce came up, but after tested it for a couple of days in a row I put my hands up now is one of my favourite foundations for several reason not only the performance. Recently another member joined the family and again another lovely surprise: Re-Dew Setting spray, plus the two new Electrical Violet sponges because you never have enough beautyblenders specially if you work with make up. Continue reading “Beautyblender: Bounce Foundation & Re-Dew Setting Spray”
It has been a while since the last time I used a MAC foundation and normally would be the classics from the brand so when I saw this I noticed I have never tried it before and the name really caught my attention, I’m talking about the Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation. I said many times down here I do have normally oily skin except on winter that could actually turn into dry, another thing I always say is that I hate cakey make up and how I see on the street and even beauty consultants wear an overdose of high coverage foundation, no, no, no. Many of you would say “Elle I want full coverage because I have bad skin, I have acne, rosacea or any other issue” great you can get a full coverage but without making so obvious to others eyes, plus there is nothing more annoying of that heavy foundation sensation on your face, well here we have one solution. Continue reading “MAC, Studio Waterweight Foundation”
Less is more, from the “No Make up Make up” to the Glass Skin many women realise that looking natural and fresh could be far nicer than the diva look, because is not nice when you can notice the excess of foundation from meters away, and far more important a natural makeup would make you look far younger and would help also a lot to keep your skin younger but not all foundations do that that’s why today I want to share the one I have been loving lately and is the Perfecting Powder Cream by Valmont. Continue reading “Valmont, Perfecting Powder Cream Foundation”
Retinol has been used as an ingredient in cosmetics for approximately 40 years. First as a treatment against acne, to later extend its use in the prevention and treatment of wrinkles and age spots, once proven effective as a skin renewal.
How does it act? Penetrating the deep layers of the skin, thanks to its light molecular weight, and stimulating collagen and elastin. What makes it unbeatable is that it also improves the appearance of the outer layer of the skin. It benefits the cell renewal process, so dead skin goes fast and new, brighter skin layers appear, it also regulates the keratinization process to soften the complexion. Continue reading “Murad, Retinol Youth Renewal Collection”
When my skin needs an extra because it looks quite dull or without any glow i tend to use overnight face masks instead of regular moisturizers. No doubt Kiehl’s is one of my favourite brands when it comes to face masks and one of the latest to come up is the Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask. Continue reading “Kiehl’s: Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask”
My story with removal has been always been a big drama for me, my skin is olive during the summer and pale during the winter and my hair is dark brown which makes any non pleasant to see hair very easy to actually see. I always struggled with hair removal methods, I always saw other girls saying so happily that they shave their legs or under arms and they look flawless, in my case the shaved legs for example would last me a day, the next one I would actually start to feel them like sand paper plus my legs would get full of ungrown hair. Waxing also never was good for me, my skin is very sensitive and even when the wax was almost cold still it managed to leave dark marks on my skin and it was not really good removing hair. Creams: same result as shaving, Little Classic Machines: This ones helped to make the hair growing a bit slower but I cannot resist the pain so much so normally I ended up doing half of my legs and shaving the other half. Continue reading “12 Weeks Of IPL Hair Removal With Smooth Skin Muse”
The past weeks I have been using two products from the Collagène Collection from Thalgo a French luxury marine cosmetic brand, Thalgo formulas are kind to skin and the environment: Do not contain parabens, mineral oils, propylene glycol, GMOs or ingredients of animal origin (Except beeswax and collagen) I think this is wonderful for having a healthy and safe skin care routine in a long basis and it was on the reasons I wanted to try the brand as my skin is sensitive and tends to react quite badly to nasty chemicals. Continue reading “Thalgo: Collagène Cream & Concentrate”
Now days many people loves to use tanning products hoping to avoid the fair pale skin, in my case there is nothing that I hate most than tanning my skin, I don’t use tanning products and I avoid the sun as much as I can, but the truth is that sometimes because of my job I must stay outdoors checking out things fo several hours underneath the sun and obviously I get red and then olive, the worst part is when I take off all my clothes and i see part of my neck tanned or red and the rest of my shoulders, one side of my arms, my legs etc totally white. I decided to try the Dare To Bare Bronzing Gel Pearls from Elizabeth Arden Continue reading “Elizabeth Arden: Dare To Bare Bronzing Gel Pearls”
This Illuminator or highlighter is part of the Synchro Skin from Shiseido, I have been using it practically everyday as I only use few drops for different part of my face, that’s why this 40 ml bottle is very long lasting. The Synchro Skin Illuminator is a creamy highlither with a medium pigmentation, ideal to get a natural and sophisticated glow to a classy makeup look. The creamy formula is ideal to apply with fingers and they are easier to blend in the right area we want to glow, I also found it a bit more long lasting than powders specially for dry skin or even the oily ones during the cold months. Continue reading “Shiseido: Synchro Skin Illuminator”
One of the mega stars from IT Cosmetics without a doubt is the full coverage CC Cream that I personally freaking love, so when two different options showed up as alternatives as different finish I couldn’t resist to testing them out. The first one that came out was the Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination SPF 50+, an option to give an extra glow to the foundation finish touch, later came an option pretty wisely dedicated to oily skin: Your Skin But Better, CC+ Oil-Free Matte SPF 40. Continue reading “IT Cosmetics: Your Skin But Better, CC+ Oil-Free Matte & CC+ Illumination SPF 50+”
I have to admit that GLAMGLOW masks are one of my favourites and this yellow packaging called my attention, the second thing that make me curious was the “instamud” 60 seconds, as you might know muds, clay and other type of mask needs 30-45 minutes on the face to work. So I have to admit I was a bit skeptical also the type of the bottle I had the feeling that would go empty very fast. Continue reading “GLAMGLOW Instamud 60 Second Pore Refining Treatment”
Not long ago it was very difficult to get specific products for skin with rosacea, today some products have appeared but a brand that has a 100% dedicated line to rosacea is Pevonia.
This is the Ligne Rose RS2 line, which has a cleanser, lotion, concentrate and face cream. Continue reading “Pevonia, Ligne Rose RS2 Range”
Lip Balms are essential in my life, from the time I wake up till I go to sleep, my lips are very dry to the point they can be sore if I don’t apply a lip balm, also in the past two years I have decided to use more natural, cruelty free and eco friendly products not only the environment and the animals, for me too I want to really take care of what I put on my body.
And I’m not really sure if these are new or not but i have never actually see them before, these are the Lip Juicers from The Body Shop, I decided to try different flavours and today I share my opinion. Continue reading “Review: The Body Shop, Lip Juicers”
Sensitive skin is not a type of skin, but a condition, a condition that can affect all skin types.
The symptoms are tightness, itching, tingling, erythema (our face turns red), burning. Did you ever feel that? Or thought “this cream is bad” and you stop using the one you had open because it burns your face? In general it is not the cream’s fault but our skin that is sensitized. What things can damage the microbiome (the protective barrier) of the skin and leave it weak and sensitive? very abrasive products, exfoliate very often, clean our face with very strong soaps, do not use sunscreen. That’s why we suddenly notice that everything burns, bothers us and then we choose not to use anything.
Well weeks ago I tried a clay mask that practically destroyed my skin, I was full of pimples, itchy, burning and actually my skin was in pain, so had to change my regular skin care routine to recover for one more simple but with specific products, that’s when I tried a combination of 3 from Eau Thermale Avène.
