Review: Kiehl’s, Daily Refining Milk-Peel Toner

IMG-20200728-WA0010

I love when new type of products show up in the market with new formulas, textures… specially if we are talking about toners, some people consider them unnecessary mostly because they have an inaccurate concept about what a toner does or they tend to think about the first ones in the market that were pure alcohol with fragrance, I remember them when I was a teenager with oily skin and acne and how much damage they caused. One of the main issues I always had with my hair was the fact of how dry and damaged it always is, I always try different products but the fact that most of them have silicons that shows a fake healthy effect on hair is basically cheat to myself and make the issue even bigger so I decided to go back to some products I have tried before and worked well and as I repurchased it again i wanted to share so you will know what silicon-free products for the hair are out there. Have you ever had a dream and got stuck in your mind the next morning? Well how about finding out what your unconscious mind is trying to tell you? Never been a big fan of Freud actually I don’t agree with him on many things but when it comes to dreams I do tend to to believe the mind is trying to speak up about the unsolved things we have in our lives and we aren’t aware of how subconsciously they might be affecting ourselves. Review: AA Skincare, Frankincense & Rose Face Toner

IMG_20200118_193339

Toners could be one of the biggest allies on your skincare or one of your worst enemies depending on their formulation, I’m also against of paying huge amounts of money for a product that is supposed to be simple and not with a bunch of ingredients that should be supplied by serums, moisturisers etc. Continue reading “Review: AA Skincare, Frankincense & Rose Face Toner”

Book: Back Chat Beauty, The Beauty Guide for Real Life

20200417_080330

Because life is full of beauty hacks is always nice to have a book from where we can go back time to time to check certain information. I can only remember myself back in high school, totally clueless of how to look after my skin, my terrible make up techniques, I mean..damn! I wish books like this and the whole social media was so available back then, but now is good to refresh some knowledge with this beauty. Perfume Review: Neon Rose by Floral Street

IMG-20200508-WA0001

Summer is around the corner and definitely we started to feel those sunny and sometimes quite warm days, so what that basically means? warm skin makes any perfume become far more intense, and yes I have always been a powerful intense fragrance lover, florals and fresh clean scents are not my cup of tea mostly because I don’t tend to suit my personality and  most important they never last on my skin. AirBrush_20200109195810

When we talk about about Trish McEvoy we normally think about makeup but not so much about the lovely perfume collection, except if we visit department stores and we can see them displayed and ready to try out.

Time ago I was lucky enough to try out Precious Pink Jasmine and really loved it so this time I went for a Floral Oriental option, the notes really called my attention so I’m really excited to share this Eau de Parfum called 100. Continue reading “Perfume Review: 100 by Trish McEvoy”

Review: Thalgo, Clarifying Water Essence

IMG-20200115-WA0003

Even when essences have been on the market for a while, not many brands produce them, actually they are kind of exclusive to medium to luxury ones and still you would need to know where to find them, but still many people wouldn’t know what they are, how to use it and most important they are not meant to replace any other product. Perfume Review: La Route d’Emeraude by Isabey

InstaSave-2

First launch in 1924, “La Route d’Emeraude” The road to the Emerald Triangle from Isabey was designed by Julien Viard, in a faceted bottle and a jewel-like case, reminiscent of the splendor of the Far East. This perfume is inspired, with a touch of nostalgia, by the journey leading to the “Emerald Triangle” (Thailand, Laos and Cambodia), filled with the scents of Jasmine Sambac and blooming flowers. Many Orient lovers took the path to these faraway lands and experienced sensations that are recaptured in this re-edition of the mythical perfume. Gold leather (cordovan) effect, distinctive of La Route d’Emeraude previous designs, has been preserved. The fragrance has been slightly changed. Perfume: Best in Fragrance 2019

IMG_20200201_170818-2

2019 was a good year for some perfume houses and not so good for many others, I think the list of “Worst in Fragrance 2019” would be much longer because many luxury but mass consumption houses have launched new versions of existing perfumes , the release of new perfumes was very poor and many others only chose to launch flankers without much to say or collectable bottles. In this list you will find the best of both mass consumption and the few of niche houses, all from different brands. Continue reading “Perfume: Best in Fragrance 2019”

Having oily/combination skin is a real issue, when I was a teenager I have suffered from a severe acne and due to the lack of information (or misinformation) I used to have a terrible skincare routine and today I’m paying the consequences of it. But the story doesn’t finish there acne could be hormonal, due to a bad a diet, stress and also using the wrong products could be causing it.Acne is not the only issue, having a prone skin to open pores, blackheads and blemishes is something that most of us have to deal with, that’s why today I wanted to share two products from Bioderma that are specific for this concerns. aurasensuelle

Almost finishing another year and I will have to do my list of best and worst in fragrance of 2019, and today I want to share my experience with one fragrance that actually was released during the summer time but due to work and being traveling around I haven’t had the time and chance to test it out, Aura Eau de Parfum Sensuelle by Mugler, yes another flanker of Aura, and I said a millon times I’m not a fan of flankers but this house at least puts some effort and releases good ones or at least they smell different and not all the same. Perfume Review: Wonderland Peony by Floral Street

floral

In the last years we have seen the massive production perfume brands releasing flankers after flankers, new versions of what it used to be good perfumes and very few new in fragrances have absolutely nothing new to surprise the demanding and every day more exigent customers, so the niche perfumery became more and more attractive to people looking for something  different and here is one of those wonderful niche perfume houses: Floral Street Continue reading “Perfume Review: Wonderland Peony by Floral Street”

Visiting Edinburgh: Part I, The Fringe Festival And The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

The bus service London-Edinburgh to create this travel journal was kindly provided by National Express.

There I was … the last time I visited Victoria Coach Station it was four years ago during the winter to take the National Express to Inverness and start an adventure alone.
Returning to the station brought me many memories even when it has changed a lot, probably just like me. Once again I was traveling alone because I honestly needed some time for myself, what better idea than to return to Scotland a place that I always loved, of course this time the destination would be different, I was heading to Edinburgh.
