Perfume: Best in Fragrance 2019

IMG_20200201_170818-2

2019 was a good year for some perfume houses and not so good for many others, I think the list of “Worst in Fragrance 2019” would be much longer because many luxury but mass consumption houses have launched new versions of existing perfumes , the release of new perfumes was very poor and many others only chose to launch flankers without much to say or collectable bottles. In this list you will find the best of both mass consumption and the few of niche houses, all from different brands. Continue reading “Perfume: Best in Fragrance 2019”

Review: Bioderma, Atoderm Gel Douche and Atoderm Crème

bioderma-atoderm-cream-500-ml-shower-gel-100-ml-z

Review: Bioderma, Sébium Gel Moussant and Sébium Global

58443848_993232120873774_7392498710602579968_n

Having oily/combination skin is a real issue, when I was a teenager I have suffered from a severe acne and due to the lack of information (or misinformation) I used to have a terrible skincare routine and today I’m paying the consequences of it. But the story doesn’t finish there acne could be hormonal, due to a bad a diet, stress and also using the wrong products could be causing it.Acne is not the only issue, having a prone skin to open pores, blackheads and blemishes is something that most of us have to deal with, that’s why today I wanted to share two products from Bioderma that are specific for this concerns. Perfume Review: Aura Eau De Parfum Sensuelle by Mugler

aurasensuelle

Almost finishing another year and I will have to do my list of best and worst in fragrance of 2019, and today I want to share my experience with one fragrance that actually was released during the summer time but due to work and being traveling around I haven’t had the time and chance to test it out, Aura Eau de Parfum Sensuelle by Mugler, yes another flanker of Aura, and I said a millon times I’m not a fan of flankers but this house at least puts some effort and releases good ones or at least they smell different and not all the same. Perfume Review: Wonderland Peony by Floral Street

floral

In the last years we have seen the massive production perfume brands releasing flankers after flankers, new versions of what it used to be good perfumes and very few new in fragrances have absolutely nothing new to surprise the demanding and every day more exigent customers, so the niche perfumery became more and more attractive to people looking for something  different and here is one of those wonderful niche perfume houses: Floral Street Continue reading “Perfume Review: Wonderland Peony by Floral Street”

Zelens, Defence SPF 30 & Lip Treatment Oil Review

IMG_20191012_165854

One product I tend to run out quite fast is the Facial SPF and I have to admit I only use Body SPF during the summer, but something that worries me is that many people only cares about using SPF during the sunny months when it’s actually a everyday use product during the whole year, this is not only about the skin getting burnt, getting wrinkles in few years is also to avoid skin cancer, so today I want to share with you 3 products from Zelens, a great dermatological brand with very nice formulas. Perfume Review: Angel EDT (2019) by Mugler

Angel EDT.jpeg

Many times I have mentioned that I’m not a fan of flankers and new version of well established fragrances, I mean to make a new version of a well popular perfume it could be tricky and most of the time it goes wrong, not only my perception but also what I heard every time I mingle with the customers, so when Mugler came with this new guy I was a bit scared of what I would find, but even when I liked the previous version and the design of the bottle was stunning, this one managed to become a great option. Perfume Review: Mademoiselle Rochas Couture by Rochas

Rochas.jpg

This year Rochas decided (perfume wise) to get a stronger presence in the UK, that would include a closer relationship with the influencers and perfume reviewers, so that’s how a lovely bottle of the latest release landed in my hands it was Mademoiselle Rochas Couture. It has been a very long time since the last time I tested a Rochas fragrance and I was really excited when I got it because as we talked many times in this blog and social media, I’m a bit fed up of the over abuse of flankers and the re inventions who end up killing classics of the perfumerie history, and this is something why I love Rochas if they do a flanker it’s only one or two (except the Eau Rochas which are very different between each other) Continue reading “Perfume Review: Mademoiselle Rochas Couture by Rochas”

Perfume Review: Wanted Girl by Azzaro

C197A7B8-28EF-4C6E-9C2A-3A8C142374CA

As I have shared here, I consider myself an extremely olfactory person, I associate immense perfumes with people, moments or memories in a snap of my fingers. I also believe it to be one of my sharpest senses. Having said that, it is extremely important for me to use a memorable fragrance. Normally, I always opt for very hot fragranes; in my opinion, very seductive and feminine. Continue reading “Perfume Review: Wanted Girl by Azzaro”

Windle & Moodie, Ultra Nourishing Collection Review

windle

Anyone who has very damaged hair knows how hard it is to bring it back to life, one of the most important factors is knowing how to choose quality and free products such as parabens and silicones that give a false appearance of “healthy” when the reality is very different, the problem that has even happened to me is that when I use products free of these ingredients my hair is obviously shown as it is: dry, damaged, full of frizz, etc. I preferred to sacrifice myself and continue using harmful products just to tame my hair. I decided a couple of months ago that I wanted to have long hair again because I do not tolerate the same haircut that everyone now wears, so I decided to make it grow but it was healthy when the Ultra Nourishing line from Windle & Moodie was great help. Perfume Review: Precious Pink Jasmine by Trish McEvoy

trish

On my way to make a list of best spring/summer fragrances options I managed to test Precious Pink Jasmine by Trish McEvoy, I have had few make up items from the brand in the past but never tried any of the perfume range and I was looking for floral options for those who are not fan of  “Too floral” perfumes, I was looking for something more delicate, unique in terms of notes and the right balance between floral and sweet, suddendly I remembered this fragrance so I decided to test it and it was a very nice surprise. After releasing few collectables Mugler started the year with a new member of the Alien family, I’m talking about Alien Fusion, a floral-sweet Eau de Parfum which seems to be an Alien spring/summer option with that hint of fresh ginger for other it would be suitable for colder months, everything comes to personal taste and skin type, if your is quite tricky with perfumes performance and longevity then this one would suit you perfectly. A new addiction for the Alien lovers and a good chance to make it up for the ones who are not fans of it. Continue reading “Perfume Review: Alien Fusion by Mugler”

MAC, Studio Waterweight Foundation

IMG_0780

It has been a while since the last time I used a MAC foundation and normally would be the classics from the brand so when I saw this I noticed I have never tried it before and the name really caught my attention, I’m talking about the Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation. I said many times down here I do have normally oily skin except on winter that could actually turn into dry, another thing I always say is that I hate cakey make up and how I see on the street and even beauty consultants wear an overdose of high coverage foundation, no, no, no. Many of you would say “Elle I want full coverage because I have bad skin, I have acne, rosacea or any other issue” great you can get a full coverage but without making so obvious to others eyes, plus there is nothing more annoying of that heavy foundation sensation on your face, well here we have one solution. Less is more, from the “No Make up Make up” to the Glass Skin many women realise that looking natural and fresh could be far nicer than the diva look, because is not nice when you can notice the excess of foundation from meters away, and far more important a natural makeup would make you look far younger and would help also a lot to keep your skin younger but not all foundations do that that’s why today I want to share the one I have been loving lately and is the Perfecting Powder Cream by Valmont. Murad, Retinol Youth Renewal Collection

murad

Retinol has been used as an ingredient in cosmetics for approximately 40 years. First as a treatment against acne, to later extend its use in the prevention and treatment of wrinkles and age spots, once proven effective as a skin renewal.

How does it act? Penetrating the deep layers of the skin, thanks to its light molecular weight, and stimulating collagen and elastin. What makes it unbeatable is that it also improves the appearance of the outer layer of the skin. It benefits the cell renewal process, so dead skin goes fast and new, brighter skin layers appear, it also regulates the keratinization process to soften the complexion.
