Palmarola is a natural wonder that is a living water colour comprised of the crystalline sea-blue of its waters and the sparkling white of its vertical cliffs. The fragrance begins with Bergamot of Calabria and Italian lemon, then fans out into floral heart notes of Jasmine, heady and delicious, all built upon a base of Gaïac wood which provides depth and Italian sophistication. In perfumery, Gaïac is a white, dry, smoky wood, suitable for use in both traditionally masculine and feminine fragrances as it blends with amber Sandal notes as well as softer and powdery floral notes. Jasmine Absolute Sambac is characterized by its small white, velvety blossoms. Its petals are fragile and fragrant so best collected at dawn to preserve the integrity of their essence which can be affected by sunlight. Several million blossoms are required to produce 1kg of concentrate. It can be worked in to a powdered, hypnotic, heady, surprisingly original and unexpected olfactive creation that challenges the usual expectations of white-flower fragrances which are usually purely and innocent in nature.
