Perfume Review: Mango Skin by Vilhelm Parfumerie

With a single bite, you can feel the mango in your veins. Wild colours, endless skies and untamed happiness: breath taking South Africa becomes the backdrop for this expressionist burst of blackberries, mango and black pepper. A ripe fruit that reveals its complex flavours a cocktail of wild orris, black lotus and jasmine that leaves behind patchouli, vanilla and a hint of pink sugar.

When I saw the name of this fragrance I couldn’t help to think it was another strong fruity floral summer scent but it surprised me from the very first spray, this is the smell of a mango ready to be collected from the tree still a bit green. Then the black lotus adds a candied floral bridge to jasmine and wild orris. Those florals are blended a way that allows the black lotus to act as connector between the fruit on top and the florals in the heart. The last part of the construction is an effervescent blackberries accord bubbling up through the other notes.

It has an average sillage and duration of 6-8 hours, is a powdery tropical scent not crazy sweet and something quite different from what we are used to in terms or fruity scents what makes it suitable for every season if you really fancy using frutals during the cold months.
