During the last couple of years we started to hear about Hyaluronic Acid applied to skincare products but many times there is a misconception that HA is reserved for dry skin, Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar found naturally in our skin that holds water and helps keep it hydrated and plump. The HA within our bodies holds a thousand times its weight in water to not only retain all that moisture in our skin and joints, but also prevent all that moisture from evaporating into the air, now just like elastin and collagen this one also decrease in production as we get older so here is when we have to do our part to estimulate the production, internally as you can imagine our diet plays a vital role, no rocking science vegetables and fruits are in the top of the list, externally we can help our skin with skincare products like serums, creams, masks that keep the skin moisturised, helping to reduce the Transepidermal water loss.
Now most of the time we hear HA is for dry skin because obviously if the skin is dry we assume that is not capable to keep the moisture but the true is that all skin types suffer TWL, in fact if you have combination or oily skin after start using HA you will start to notice less oiliness because the skin would start to notice that is capable to keep the moisture without need to produce more and more sebum because there is not threat of losing its lipid barrier as defence, the HA works pretty well to regulate oiliness in fact during the night you can even apply a facial oil to seal the cream at the end of the routine and the next morning the skin would be soft and glowy and non greasy at all.
One brand I have been trying out and worked very well for me (combination skin although I suffer of dry skin periods as mine is quite sensitive) is Institut Esthederm, it has a “intensive” range that cover different products with different main ingredients, in this case Hyaluronic Acid, it has 4 products but I managed to try three
INTENSIVE HYALURONIC MASK
This is the first time I try a hyaluronic acid mask, normally we find it as second ingredient or in sheet masks. Now this mask you can apply after you clean your face, leave it for 20 minutes and rinse it off then apply serums and cream but also it can be used as a overnight mask which it’s actually the best way in my opinion as the skin start it’s regeneration process during the night while we sleep so you get the best use of this product this way, to be used twice or three times a week I felt my skin quite smooth and young like baby soft any time I use it.

This is a highly concentrated eye serum formulated to address signs of ageing and fatigue around the delicate eye area. INTENSIVE HYALURONIC CREAM
Just to finish the routine we have a concentrated cream that gives an immediate and targeted answer to severe dehydration problems providing long-lasting, immediate relief for the skin.
