“Paris in 1988. A secret cult of women. Matisse’s La Danse. Ritual dancing, whispered sounds, the ecstasy of burning skin. A maddening collision of ice cold pear juice and chili” One of the latest releases from the house Vilhelm Parfumerie is Body Paint a quite interesting story different to all the perfume releases back in 2020.
First I want to mention the new nomad collection from the brand, which is a travel size bottle of 20 ml that you can easily carry with you on a trip or if you prefer to have smaller bottles and more variety without taking the risk of your fragrances going off then these are a good option.
Body Paint was released in 2020 together with other two fragrances and it was quite a surprise I definitely don’t have or tried any perfume that smells similar.

One of the reasons this fragrance surprised me was how complex it can be depending from skin to skin and also how the notes were used. It opens up very fresh spicy and a bit citrusy like a margarita cocktail except the salt, then it turns a bit sweater when the pear together with the nutmeg and clove then becomes a real chypre mostly because the ambroxan and the Iso E Super that normally are used in perfumery to improve the fixation on the skin and make it last longer, while in Body Paint they both play their own roles and you can actually feel them as they settle down after 15 min, I really thought at the beginning that this would be a very spicy citrus scent but that just the first 5 minutes then it becomes chypre.
Body Paint is available in 20 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml at Liberty London and Vilhelm Parfumerie Website
