Not long ago I shared my thoughts on the well famous Molecule 01 and Escentric 01, the first members of the Escentric Molecules collection, now is the turn for the 02 pair that also had quite a success.The artificial molecule this time is ambroxan, which simulates a musky amber note, is mostly used for masculine fragrances and unisex and a bit less for feminine scents, the ambroxan and the amber give a simple but luxurious scent to any blend where is included, the effect is quite interesting.
MOLECULE 02
When ambroxan is used alone in this case Molecule 02 there isn’t a specific smell, this fragrance reacts differently from one person to another, a bit more intense in some people, far more citrus with others, musky or ambery in another case. is a nice clean sophisticated and luxe smell, that it can give the sensation of a weak sillage and projection but no it actually has very good longevity and sillage but is not powerful in the sense of being strong, is quite smooth ambery clean. It can be used for layering over another fragrances mostly to extend the longevity or if you want to give a twist over certain scents like gourmand or white florals then this one is ideal.
Molecule 02 is available in 30 ml and 100 ml
ESCENTRIC 02
Notes:
- Top Notes: Almdudler, Juniper Berry, Mandarine, Lime, Bergamot
- Heart Notes: Ginger, Freesia, Clary Sage, Pink Pepper, Hedione (green jasmine bud), Orris
- Base Notes: Muscone (Musk), AMBROXAN, Vetiver, Tonka
Even when this fragrance is unisex I have to admit is a bit more towards a masculine scent, starts as a strong fresh woody floral, but once it dries down and it blends with the Iris we get a clean powdery floral actually the iris becomes predominant. just like molecule 02 when you first spray it you won’t feel much, but once it settles is when the delicate soft magic starts, is not like the classic sillage or projection from strong perfumes this is like a ghost scent, you think is not there and you can forget and when you comeback is when you actually feel it and many people would too, it works very well for layering too.
The longevity is there for a good amount of hours I remember spraying it around 7 am have a busy day at work and at the end of the day someone would be asking what I’m wearing as it smells so good. For me is a winner, wish they had candles of this.
