October comes with a book release but at the same time it’s not so new as the tittle might sound familiar for many of you, one of the top Fashion Books “100 Years of Fashion” by Cally Blackman is now available in pocket size so now apart of the original large version with Audrey Hepburn in the cover we have this smaller one for everyone to choose which one is more suitable for the our bookshelf.Personally I don’t large books, but sometimes is hard to make them fit in the shelves or some people just prefer smaller books. Now to the book…100 Years of Fashion documents in pictures the most exciting and diverse period in fashion: from 1900 to today, covering high society, uniforms, sportswear, street wear and couture. It will appeal to everyone with an interest in fashion as well as students.
The last hundred or so years bore witness to the transformation of women’s fashion. The restrictive corsetry of the early twentieth century gave way to looser styles such as those made fashionable by French fashion designer Paul Poiret. As women’s lives changed dramatically under the shadow of two World Wars, so the style of female dress was altered beyond recognition. From home dressmaking to couture, from rationing to ‘The New Look’, from the birth of the teenager to mass manufacture, from high society to celebrity culture.
Over 400 photographs and illustrations, many published for the first time, tell the stylish story of a fashion revolution. The book is so reach about Fashion history in a very dynamic way so you never get bored, a must have in any fashion lover bookshelf. It not only shows fantastic photographs this book discusses styles, materials, trends and famous icons of style. Comprehensive and a great read.
