Review: Kiehl’s, Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum

Feeling your skin dull without any life? Dehydrated? that happens to me quite often and one of the main keys for a healthier looks is choosing a good serum. Lately I finished the Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum from Kiehl’s so today I’m gonna share my experience. In a world where there are more and more skincare innovations and lot of different products is easily to get lost, rather if you are someone who is just starting to use serums or if you are picky on which ones you invest I would personally recommend to give this one a try, why? This serum is formulated with 11kDa (Kilodalton) Hyaluronic Acid which basically means small molecules of it you probably heard or already use it but for effective results you need a light weight molecule of hyaluronic acid to be able to penetrate on your skin otherwise it just stays in the first barrier without helping the skin at all. It’s enriched with glycerin, a humectant ingredient which together with the hyaluronic acid work together on keeping the moisture of the skin.

Dimethicone, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Hamamelis Virginiana Water/Witch Hazel Water, Propanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopherol, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Schisandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Disodium EDTA, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Oil/Orange Peel Oil, Limonene, Adenosine, Sodium Hydroxide, Methyldihydrojasmonate, Citric Acid, Eugenol, Sodium Benzoate, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citral, Potassium Sorbate, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil/Lavender Oil, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Oil, Citronellol, Linalool, Geraniol, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil/Rosemary Leaf Oil

The list of ingredients totally got me, there is a lot of different natural oil and ingredients, there is no harsh ingredients or unnecessary ones like fragrance or perfume, instead is a blend of Red Ginseng Root, Holy Basil and Schisandra Berry inspired by traditional Chinese, Korean and Ayurveda, all enriched with herbal Adaptogens, but what Herbal Adaptogens are? Adaptogens are herbal pharmaceuticals. They work to counteract the effects of stress in the body. Stress causes very real physical changes in the body, including harming the neurological, endocrine, and immune systems. Adaptogens have stimulant properties that help counteract those harmful effects. in this case all these positive effects are applied to a beauty product but can also find with food, infusions, medicine. etc.

I enjoy using this as noticed that my skin actually reflected my stress, the lack of water and even when we don’t see it all the products we apply on our skin end up affecting us in other ways, in this case while the serum is working to keep the nourishment the adaptogens are working during times of stress, cortisol levels will spike. These spikes stimulate our nervous system and adrenal glands, which can cause inflammation and premature ageing. Therefore, infusing skincare with adaptogens helps regulate these stressors.

So far it was a really nice serum to use for any age or skin type.

Kiehl’s Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum is available in 30 ml and 50 ml at Kiehl’s website.
