Review: Thalgo, Prodige des Océans Le Masque

When it comes to give a treat to my skin I would not doubt twice to mention face masks, different types, different applications, different purposes, but there is one I actually use twice a week and are the leave on all night ones as an extra to hydrate and moisture my face.

The face mask I have been using lately is the one from the Prodige des Océans range by Thalgo, I already reviewed the cream and serum, I had very good results with those so here we go for the mask. I have been using twice a week, normally on Wednesdays and Sundays. The way to use it is after the cleanse, toner and serum, the brand suggest to ways, leave it on for 45 min and wash it off then apply moisturiser or leave it on the whole night replacing the moisturiser, I always go for the second option.

From the ingredients we can see Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate and other few emollients that work as a protective film on the surface of skin, which helps to prevent evaporation of the skin’s natural moisture. Over time, this increases skin hydration by causing buildup of water, this is quite recommended for dry skin normally but combination oily suffer also of water loss and is when the excess of sebum show up as a defence mechanism of the skin. I like the fact it has Hydrolyzed Yeast Extract that works as antioxidant for the skin and stimulate the hyaluronic acid synthesis in the skin, this product already contains hyaluronic but if you use a serum with it previous to this mask it would work even better, I like the the fact of

The high concentration of Shea Butter makes it ideal recover the moisture of the skin, but normally this ingredient would need at least 8 hours to do it’s real magic that’s why I don’t recommend washing off this mask is far better to leave on while you sleep. In general the list of ingredients are rich oils and nutrients and others work to avoid water loss and take all the advantages of the moisturiser agents.

From my personal experience I could say that my skin appreciate it, I do normally have combination skin but for some reason this summer my skin has been quite dry and prone to break outs, every time I go to bed with this mask on I wake up the next morning with a far more relax feeling and not with a puffy dry face, instead I get a natural glow and a very soft texture on my skin. Prodige des oceans is supposed to be for women on their 50’s but anyone can actually use it although for women on their 20’s I would recommend other ranges of the brand that might target more skin problematic for that age, but I know many people struggle with very dry and sensitive skin so here you might have an option.

Prodige Des Oceans Le Masque is available in 50 ml for £83 at Thalgo Website, for everyone from America, Europe and other countries Thalgo has different websites depending your country so you can get the products there.
