Salvatore Ferragamo, Amo Ferragamo

A little bit of Italian taste over here…Today I’m writing about the latest fragrance released by Salvatore Ferragamo: Amo Ferragamo. This is part of the fragrances launched for the summer season 2018 by luxury brands, In my case I always saw Ferragamo fragrances online but never sniffed or tried any of them so this time I decided to give it a go.

Top Notes: Blackcurrant, Rosemary, Campari

Heart Notes: Jasmine, Rhubarb, Mate

Base notes: Vanilla, Amber, Sandalwood

I personally got attracted by the fact that one of the notes is campari, a classic delicious alcoholic drink from Italy, it’s got a fresh and girly element to it, almost fun-flirty.

Translated in Italian, ‘Amo’ means ‘I love’ and I do love this perfume. As mentioned, it’s got a fresh element I think this comes from the oriental elements, and creates a fresh breeze kind of feeling.

With heart notes of Jasmine and rhubarb, it still retains some of that seductive edge in it’s musk, especially with the base notes of sandalwood and vanilla too. The seductive musk levels to make things sultry. But it’s also got the girlie and slightly younger element through the fruity blackcurrant top note. It’s like two worlds colliding – new, young, fresh and flirty with traditional sultry and seductive. It’s going to capture hearts and I can see why it’s called Amo now too.
Most musky scents tend to last longer I find, they cling to the skin a lot better than light hearted fragrances, so I was intrigued to see if this stuck around as long as it’s family members. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it really adapted quickly to me, meaning it’s suited well. And I could still smell it hours later. You’ll definitely need a spritz pick-me-up by lunch time but you get a good few hours of strong scent levels before needed a top-up. Which shows it’s a good quality perfume as well as great smelling.
And that’s how Amo Ferragamo joined my collection of “favs” of fragrances for this 2018.

Have you tried any Salvatore Ferragamo fragrance?

Love xoxo
